Government is the problem.
I support eliminating or reducing government regulation and increasing liberty. I support abolishing property taxes and going to a fair, flat sales tax. Texans don't really own their property when they have to pay the government rent. I support ending corporate welfare. I support eliminating the franchise tax. I support setting a strict constitutional spending limit.
I support the 2nd amendment and specifically support Constitutional Carry. Texans shouldn't have to purchase a license to defend themselves from criminals who are already carrying.
All Texas children should have access to a high quality education. I support the parent's responsibility to choose the best form of education for their children whether it be public, private, charter or home school. I support serious reform to the public education system. I support the state carrying more of the burden of the public education system financially and not keep pushing more of that burden to property owners. I support fiscal responsibility in public schools and eliminating regulations and programs that affect teachers in successfully instructing students. Specifically the current standardized testing program. I support abolishing the current m&o property tax and going to a flat sales tax. This will give property owners some relief from encroaching taxes and increase the burden of the education system to everyone not just property owners.

In East Texas’ House District 11, Republican voters will have at least two choices in the March 2018 primary: an incumbent with a record of voting against taxpayers’ interests, or a political newcomer.
Alto resident Danny Ward announced he will seek the Republican nomination for Texas House of Representatives, District 11, the seat currently held by Travis Clardy of Nacogdoches.
"I think what we're seeing is a lot of frustration on the side of conservative voters," Danny Ward said Friday. "(House Republicans) are not getting anything done. They are getting blocked by our leadership."
